Who hasn't waited like on pins for the first text message from the courier with the message “the package is on its way”? Or every now and then look out the window on the day of delivery, looking around for the white van with the courier company's logo? This feeling is probably familiar to everyone.
At GLS, we are well aware that waiting for gift packages for loved ones can be exciting... but we also know that no one likes to be kept in the dark.
That's why we are introducing a mobile application that will answer all your questions and that will make waiting for parcels even more enjoyable.
In it you will check the status of your shipment at any time - from shipment to the day of delivery, and find the full history of your package. We want you to always know what is happening with your package and when it will arrive at your address; the myGLS app offers you just that.
Parcel notifications always at your fingertips.
But what's best about it is that all notifications about your shipments are available instantly - just a touch of a finger.
When the shipper hands over your package to us, you'll get a notification right away. When this one goes to one of our GLS pickup points or to a parcel machine - you'll know instantly.
We will also notify you about our promotions, new services and more important updates; so that you are always up to date with what we have prepared for you.
What if your package is already on its way and you have just downloaded the app?
After registering in the app, you will automatically see the shipments associated with your phone number or email address (assuming the sender has given it to us). Current shipments and those up to 7 days back will go to the home screen.
Find the nearest pickup point in your area...
GLS pickup points and parcel vending machines are your convenience and independence. Want to plan your day your way? You can pick up (or send) a package coming home from work in the evening, going for a walk with the dog or completely by the way, on a weekend shopping trip.
And do you know where the nearest pickup point is in your area? The myGLS app allows you to check it in seconds. On the map you will find thousands of GLS pick-up points and parcel vending machines ... and easily choose from among them the one that happens to be most convenient for you. You will also find out what hours the points are open (vending machines operate 24/7!) and what specific services they offer - for example, whether you will send an international shipment there.
Here's a hint: it's worth looking at the map of pick-up points not only if you want to send a parcel, but also before shopping online. Perhaps a new point has just appeared, even closer to your home?
Picking up packages also becomes much easier with our app.
Whether you usually choose door-to-door delivery, or it's more convenient to go to a parcel machine or GLS pick-up point - you'll find everything you need in the “My Parcels” panel . And the parcel pick-up code, as well as details of cash on delivery payment, if you have chosen such an option at purchase.
Remember: if you ordered home delivery, and the courier will not find you - by arrangement with you, he can take your package to the nearest GLS pickup point . You can also reroute the parcel yourself (to a selected pick-up point or... to a neighbor), as part of the FlexDeliveryService. You will need your package number for this, which you will also find in the app.
And what about parcels you have already picked up?
Nothing is lost in our app. The Parcel Archive stores a complete history of all your shipments that have traveled with GLS - even those from months ago. This allows you to go back to information about an old shipment at any time. Perfect for those who like to keep things organized... and have quick access to their data.
How to start using the myGLS application? It's very simple
You can start your adventure with our app in four easy steps.
1. download the free myGLS app to your smartphone from the Google Play or App Store.
2. register: enter your phone number, enter the verification code sent to you via SMS and set a password for your account.
3. add an email address - this way the application will automatically collect information about shipments associated with this address.
4. log in - receive shipments easily and on your own terms.
You will always need your phone number and password to log in. If you forget it - you can reset it easily and safely. The account itself is, of course, protected by a two-step verification system - so you can rest easy.
A hint: after you log in for the first time, it's a good idea to look at the notification settings and choose which alerts you want to receive. This way you will always have your hand on the pulse.
