GLS Group awarded EcoVadis Silver rating
Corporate responsibility is built on transparency: that’s why GLS took part in the independent EcoVadis certification programme for the second time in a row, achieving a Silver rating in August 2018.
GLS is the first to open depots in Rakovník and Uherské Hradiště, will employ dozens of people.
GLS opened new depots in Nové Strašecí and Uherské Hradiště as the first one to cover these regions. These depots will employ about five dozens of people. GLS already operates 22 depots, including two new ones. GLS planes to increase capacity by 30 %.
GLS acquires Canadian parcels delivery company Dicom Canada
General Logistics Systems (GLS) announces that it has acquired Canadian parcel delivery company, Dicom Canada, from Wind Point Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm.
Parcels abroad sends 21 % more Czechs, knowledge of logistics providers is increasing.
In Czech Republic there is still more parcels sent abroad. In 2017 there was 66,9 % of recipients who had such an experience, in 2018 it is already 87,8 %. There is also growing knowledge of private logistics providers.
ParcelShops are more popular, for home delivery is reliability more important than price.
In Czech Republic there is growing popularity of ParcelShops, which are twice as known as in 2016. Delivery to the ParcelShop uses one fifth of people. Home delivery is used by 88 % of people and most important is reliability.

In occasion of 100th anniversary of founding of Czechoslovak republic can municipalities, schools, companies even individuals participate in the planting of new Trees of Liberty. Partnership foundation has already managed to find 1918 trees, that has been planted as a memory of founding of Czechoslovakia and another significant events during the past century.
GLS launches international FlexDeliveryService for the UK
For convenient cross-border online shopping: GLS now offers a range of options for parcel recipients in more countries. The parcel company has extended its FlexDeliveryService to include the United Kingdom. In total, 16 European countries are now connected with one another in all directions.
One third of Czechs prefers to use payment card in e-shops, cash on delivery used less
Every third online shopper in Czech Republic uses online card payment to pay for goods right away in e-shops. In 2016 cash on delivery was the most used way of paying in online shopping, now it is preferred by only 28,7 % of online shoppers.
Ivan Hofmann named CEO of GLS US
General Logistics Systems B.V. names Ivan Hofmann as CEO of GLS US Inc., with immediate effect. In this position Ivan Hofmann will oversee the GLS Group’s US activities.
GLS continues to update its fleet, reduced the year-to-year volume of emission per one vehicle
International parcel logistic provider reduced the year-to-year volume of average produced emission per one vehicle by 15 %. Comparison is based on the data from 2015/2016 and 2016/2017.
