Vogelaar BV is a family-run business based in IJsselstein. Where the company once started as a one-man business, it has now grown into a successful printing and shipping company. Due to the increasing growth in the field of online webshop services and the great diversity of products, there was a need for a stable and committed shipping partner.

The number of Vogelaar's webshops has grown explosively in recent years. Mark Bonenkamp (Managing Director of Vogelaar BV): "We keep goods in stock for about eighty to ninety customers' webshops. The moment these webshops need to deliver an order, we retrieve it from our distribution centre and GLS, among others, makes sure it is delivered quickly and correctly. Thus, GLS is involved in the entire process from Vogelaar's distribution centre to the delivery of the products to the customer."

Vogelaar's customers are very diverse, which means the company also has a diverse inventory. "From swimming certificates to hair growth aids: you name it, we supply it. Even fresh Scottish salmon. Once a year, our depot is transformed into a true fish market for Dutch whiskey brand Glen Talloch's special promotion. In the morning, two trailers of fresh salmon arrive at the door, which we pack in such a way that it stays cool and fresh. The very same day it arrives at GLS's doorstep, and they in turn ensure that the five thousand salmon arrive at the customer's door properly. This runs like a well-oiled machine!"

Vogelaar has now worked closely with GLS for five years and is very satisfied with the cooperation. "With GLS, we can communicate quickly and the contact feels very personal. It is a modest organisation, despite being a big player in the logistics and export market. If I need someone from GLS quickly outside working hours, there is always someone on standby. That really makes a difference as a company."
