GLS is liable for damages caused by loss or damage while a parcel is in the care of GLS. The liability does not include consequential damages such as loss of profit. If the sender has not taken out transport insurance.
GLS is liable beyond the legally regulated liability for the value of the shipped goods, up to a maximum value of €550 per parcel (for worldwide parcel shipping to all destinations in accordance with the Montreal Convention). The value of the goods is taken as the purchase price. In the case of used goods, it is the current market price, and in the case of goods shipped for an auction, the auction price, depending on which value is the lowest in each case.
You can find more detailed information on this in the Special Terms and Conditions for GLS Austria.
A higher liability limit can be agreed upon depending on your wishes and the selected shipping method. Please get in touch with your contact person at the GLS depot.
