Collecting at an automated parcel locker

With the expansion of the GLS network to include automated parcel lockers, your recipients will have another option nearby to pick up their parcels. It is now even easier for recipients to receive their parcels. This is because they can collect their parcel themselves, without the intervention of others.

If the recipient chooses automated parcel locker delivery, we will take his or her parcel to an automated parcel locker. There are about 1,100 automated parcel lockers in the Netherlands. After the parcel has been delivered to the selected locker, we inform the recipient by e-mail. He or she can then collect the parcel within 3 calendar days.

How does it work?

Automated parcel lockers are one of the flexible delivery options we offer recipients. With our free FlexDeliveryService , your recipient can choose from several delivery options, including the choice for automated parcel lockers. With this additional delivery option, you offer your recipient more flexibility, increasing customer satisfaction.

We will inform the recipient of your parcel about delivery in a timely manner. As soon as the ordered products are ready to be dispatched, the recipient receives an e-mail with delivery information and additional delivery options. Here, the recipient can choose delivery at an automated parcel locker.

As soon as a parcel is ready in the automated parcel locker, the recipient receives a unique code by e-mail. He or she can enter this code on the machine's screen to get the parcel out.

The recipient can collect the parcel. We keep a parcel in the automated parcel locker for 3 calendar days. After that, we take it to a Parcel Shop. Here the parcel stays for another 5 calendar days.

Cooperation with PostNL

PostNL has also opened its automated parcel lockers to GLS Netherlands. This was decided so that recipients can more easily collect their parcels at a time and location that suits them best. In addition, an open automated parcel lockers model is more sustainable and practical than having several automated parcel lockers from different carriers next to each other in one place.
