The parcel service provider is relocating its central hub to new facilities in Budča.
At the end of this year, GLS Slovakia moves its central hub from the city of Lieskovec to a new location in Budča, near the city of Zvolen.
The site in Budča is located in the Banská Bystrica Region, right in the heart of Slovakia. Operations will start in November 2017. The new central hub will provide extended handling capacities of about 50 000 parcels per night. The number of gates will increase as well: 14 for unloading and 36 for transport vehicles.
The relocation of the hub is not expected to affect GLS services.

As in the previous years, GLS Slovakia focused on continuous improvement of its services in 2016. One of the most important objectives was the increase of safety for every single parcel.
GLS managed to reduce the number of damages and recognised claims to only 0.88 per 10.000 shipped parcels – despite a large annual increase of parcel volumes. This was achieved through the expansion of the modern video surveillance system, capable of continuously tracking every shipment. GLS also modernised and complemented its parcel processing and sorting technologies.
Besides, the GPS monitoring system in delivery vehicles and periodic reviews of the logistics processes in GLS depots have been ensuring a high level of not only safety but transparency as well.
