UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 certification

GLS's environmental management system is the basis for implementing the measures developed as part of Climate Protect and achieving the targets set. Since 2011, one by one, the companies of the GLS Group in Italy have achieved certification, meeting the requirements of UNI EN ISO 14001.

UNI ISO 45001:2018 certification

For the GLS Group the safety of people, employees and suppliers, is fundamental; for this reason it is committed to safe working conditions through a policy of reducing and, when possible, eliminating risks, also through the involvement of workers. The principle that applies is: safe, healthy and risk-free. The implementation of a Management System compliant with UNI ISO 45001 is a demonstration of GLS's commitment to achieving these objectives.

AEO-F certification (full)

Since 17th July 2013, GLS is an "Authorized Economic Operator" with the customs authorities. For us, safety and reliability in sending shipments is of primary importance and we have demonstrated it by obtaining the AEO-F certification (full). This certification represents a great advantage: being classified as low risk at customs, it contributes to streamlining customs clearance procedures, reducing checks and handling of GLS import-export shipments.

The GLS Group's sustainability efforts were rewarded with the EcoVadis Silver Certificate in the Sustainability rating.

EcoVadis, that provides its independent assessments in the area of corporate social responsibility, by examining a set of parameters in the categories: Environment, Sustainable Procurement, Ethics, Labour and Human Rights and evaluating companies according to the highest possible standards. Each year, EcoVadis ranks the sustainability performance of companies that voluntarily submit to its independent assessment, including also GLS B.V. (on behalf of the GLS Group). In 2024 the score of 90/100 achieved by GLS B.V. (on behalf of the GLS Group) in terms of environmental impact places the company among the top 2% of companies in the postal, courier and freight transport sector within the Environment category only. Overall, taking into account all scoring categories, the GLS Group ranks in the top 6% of companies in the postal, courier and freight transport sector assessed by EcoVadis. Thanks to the score achieved, GLS B.V. (on behalf of the GLS Group) has also been awarded Silver certification for 2024, confirming the result achieved in 2023.

Certification EN 16258:2012 GLS

As transport activities have by far the biggest impact on our carbon emissions, we place particular importance on the professional and reliable calculation of parcel-related emissions. DIN EN 16258 is the European standard we use to calculate our transport emissions.

Netcomm member

We believe that the mutual exchange of data and information is key to the success and development of a relatively young sector like ecommerce. This is why we have decided to become members of Netcomm, the Consortium of Italian Digital Commerce, and to collaborate with the organisation and the other companies in the network, participating in working groups and supporting market research that provides data and trends on digital consumer behaviour and insights into the evolution of the main business areas closely connected to the world of ecommerce, such as marketing, logistics, payments and new technologies.
