GLS Belgium achieves official recognition for its cybersecurity framework

· The CyFun Important label confirms GLS Belgium’s structured approach to cybersecurity and risk management.

· The recognition is aligned with the stricter requirements of the European NIS2 Directive for critical sectors, including transport.

· An independent audit by Brand Compliance Belgique B.V. assessed both the procedures and their practical implementation.

· For customers and partners, the label provides additional assurance regarding the continuity and reliability of the service.

Drogenbos, 8 September 2026 – As logistics becomes increasingly digital, the secure exchange of data between carriers, customers and suppliers is essential to reliable operations. GLS Belgium has now received official recognition for its cybersecurity framework with the CyberFundamentals® Important label from the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB).

The recognition comes at a time when the European NIS2 Directive is raising the bar for cybersecurity across critical sectors, including transport. By obtaining the CyFun Important label, GLS Belgium demonstrates that its approach to cybersecurity and risk management meets a recognised Belgian framework designed to strengthen digital resilience.

Under NIS2, organisations operating in critical sectors are expected to take a proactive approach to cyber risk. This includes protecting systems and data, detecting and managing incidents, ensuring operational continuity during digital disruptions, monitoring supplier-related risks, and raising cybersecurity awareness among employees.

To validate how these requirements are embedded in its day-to-day operations, GLS Belgium had its cybersecurity approach assessed against the CCB’s CyberFundamentals® Important level. Brand Compliance Belgique B.V., acting as an external auditor, reviewed both the company’s procedures and the way they are applied in practice. Following this assessment, the CCB awarded GLS Belgium the CyFun Important label.

“Cybersecurity is not only about complying with rules and obligations. For us, it is first and foremost about earning and maintaining the trust of our customers and partners. That is why we structurally monitor our cyber resilience and risk management, and why we chose to have our approach assessed independently,” says Luc De Schrijver, Managing Director of GLS Belgium. “This label recognises the progress we have made, but it is not the finish line. Cybersecurity requires ongoing focus, investment and improvement.”

For customers and partners, the label provides a clear signal that GLS Belgium takes cybersecurity seriously and has subjected its approach to independent review. It offers added confidence that the company actively manages cyber risks and takes measures to safeguard service continuity, including in the event of a cyber incident.
