GLS doubles its European Out-of-Home network in two years

GLS has almost doubled its European network of pick-up points and parcel lockers, also known internationally as out-of-home or OOH, in just 24 months. In doing so, the company is responding to the growing demand for flexible delivery options and strengthening its position as one of the fastest-growing players in Europe in this field.

By the end of 2025, the European GLS network included more than 130,000 pick-up points and parcel lockers, compared with 70,000 two years earlier. At the same time, the number of parcels delivered or collected via these alternative delivery options increased significantly. Today, almost 29% of all B2C shipments within the European GLS network are handled via a pick-up point or parcel locker.

In Belgium and Luxembourg as well, GLS continues to invest strongly in the further development of its network of pick-up points and parcel lockers. Through a continuously growing network and strategic partnerships, recipients are given more freedom to decide where and when they want to receive or collect their parcel.

“In Belgium and Luxembourg, we also see that recipients increasingly expect flexibility when it comes to parcel delivery,” says Luc De Schrijver, Managing Director at GLS Belgium & Luxembourg. “That is why we continue to expand our
network of pick-up points and parcel lockers every day. By combining home delivery with a growing number of alternative delivery options, we give consumers more choice and help our customers organise their shipments in an
even more efficient and customer-oriented way.”

The growth of the European network offers advantages not only for recipients, but also for senders. By delivering parcels to centrally located pick-up points and parcel lockers, deliveries can be organised more efficiently, failed delivery attempts can be reduced, and consumers gain more control over when they receive their parcel.

The strong growth of the network reflects a clear evolution in consumer behaviour. More people choose to collect their parcel at a time that suits them, close to home, on their way to work or while shopping. This flexibility has made pick-up points and parcel lockers a fully-fledged alternative to traditional home delivery.

GLS will therefore continue to invest in the further development of its European network. By 2030 at the latest, the group aims to have 30,000 parcel lockers of its own, complemented by an extensive network of pick-up points and partner
locations.

With this further expansion, GLS strengthens its position as a reliable logistics partner for both senders and recipients and responds to the rapidly changing expectations of the European e-commerce and parcel market.
