We answer your questions about how to collect parcels from Parcel Lockers
How does parcel collection from a locker work?
Smart parcel lockers allow you to receive and collect packages quickly, securely, and independently, without relying on traditional door-to-door deliveries.
Once the courier places your parcel inside the locker, you instantly receive a notification by SMS, email, or through My GLS with a unique PIN code for secure access.
To collect your package, simply go to the locker, enter your PIN code on the screen, and the assigned compartment will open automatically. This parcel delivery and collection system offers extended availability, greater convenience, and a fast, queue-free experience.
In addition, smart lockers include technical assistance and customer support at all times. Directly from the locker terminal, you can access a Virtual Assistant with step-by-step guidance, issue resolution, and 24/7 support whenever you need help.
Are smart lockers safe?
Security is a key pillar in the design of smart parcel lockers. These infrastructures are built with highly vandal-resistant materials and equipped with electronic locking systems that only unlock after successful digital verification, ensuring exclusive access for the intended recipient.
In addition, lockers are installed in strategic locations, in well-lit and high-traffic areas, which further enhances both user safety and the surrounding environment. Their physical design also takes public safety into account, with larger compartments placed in the upper section to help prevent accidents involving children or animals.
How long do you have to collect your parcel?
You have up to 7 calendar days to collect your parcel from the locker. However, we recommend picking it up within the first 48 hours after receiving the availability notification.
Collecting your shipment as soon as possible helps improve compartment turnover, allowing more people to use the parcel locker service quickly and efficiently.
How do you receive the PIN code to open the locker?
Your PIN code is sent digitally and securely as soon as your package is ready for collection from the locker. You can receive it via SMS or email, and also check it in the My GLS app.
My GLS is the most convenient and efficient option, allowing you to manage all your deliveries in one place, check your parcel history, and access direct support in case of incidents or if you lose your code.
Your PIN code works as a unique and secure digital key, ensuring that only you can access your package inside the smart locker.
Where are the lockers located?
The smart lockers are installed in strategic, highly visible, and easily accessible locations so that collecting your parcel becomes part of your daily routine, without unnecessary detours.
In Spain, parcel lockers are mainly located in supermarkets, petrol stations (service stations), shopping centres, and key public transport hubs such as metro and train stations. These locations allow you to access your shipments quickly and conveniently, and in some cases they are available 24 hours a day.
Through the interactive map on the website or in the My GLS app, you can easily find the nearest locker, choose the most convenient pickup point based on your usual routes, and check availability according to your schedule.
