All children should look forward to Christmas
In 2023, a record number of families applied for Christmas aid. 22,000 applications tell a story about how many children in Denmark grow up without the opportunity to celebrate Christmas on an equal footing with their friends.
At this year's Christmas gift shop, our employees could choose to donate their Christmas gift to the Red Cross' Christmas help, so that even more families with children in Denmark could have a good Christmas. Because December shouldn't make your stomach hurt.
We are very pleased that we ended up supporting vulnerable children with DKK 50,000, giving them something to look forward to. As many as 21,000 Danish families with children received Christmas help from the Red Cross in 2023. But the Red Cross' Christmas help also helps families when Christmas is over and things get back to normal. For example, to form networks, invite the children to holiday camps, help with homework and subsidies so that they can have a good and active leisure time on an equal footing with other children.
