GLS Alerts

Exceptional circumstances may cause your shipment from or to Belgium to arrive at its destination later than usual.
The overview below shows which current disruptions are in force.

Our network is currently under significant pressure, mainly due to the weather conditions. Safety warnings have been issued in many European countries. As a result, delays may occur. Please inform your customers accordingly.

The extreme weather across large parts of Europe is making working conditions much more challenging than usual. Loading and unloading linehaul units, as well as sorting at depots and hubs, requires extra effort and is progressing more slowly than normal. And of course, delivery operations are also affected strongly. In some cases, equipment is malfunctioning due to extreme temperatures.

International parcels remain our priority, especially given their longer transit times, but it is not possible to avoid all delays entirely.

  • In Italy, temperatures are also extremely high, and yesterday in Sordio additional delays arose due to industrial action by trade unions. To prevent further delays, an alternative route has been activated until further notice.
  • We are also expecting potential delays for shipments transiting through France due to a fire in the immediate vicinity of one of our depots as well as the temporary closing of a highway following an accident on the A7.

We expect the situation to return to normal within a few days. Rest assured that everyone at GLS is motivated to deliver the highest possible quality. We thank you for your understanding.
