We make the start of the school year easier—save money with GLS! From August 11, through September 13, 2026, you can ship parcels with us at a 10% discount. This promotion is available to registered users both on the ecsomag website and in our app.
Back-to-School Discount - frequently asked questions
What is the Back-to-School Discount?
With the Back-to-School Discount, you receive 10% off the delivery fee for parcel shipments booked in the GLS App or on ecsomag.gls-hungary.com during the promotional period. The offer does not apply to GLS GO rates.
How long is the promotional period?
The discount is valid for parcels shipped between 11 August 2026 and 13 September 2026.
Who is eligible to participate in the Back-to-School Discount?
The Back-to-School Discount promotion is open to all GLS App users who are members of the GLS VIP Loyalty Programme or who join during the promotional period, as well as registered users of ecsomag.gls-hungary.com.
How can I redeem the discount?
To use the discount in the GLS App, simply activate the Back-to-School coupon during checkout. The discount will then be deducted from the service charge. On ecsomag.gls-hungary.com, the discount is deducted automatically at the checkout.
Where can I find the Back-to-School Discount coupon in the GLS App?
You can find the coupon under My Rewards in the GLS App. It can also be added during the checkout process at the Order Review step under Discounts.
Do I need to enter a coupon code to redeem the discount?
In the GLS App, the Back-to-School Discount is available as a coupon that must be activated during the order process in order for the discount to be redeemed. On ecsomag.gls-hungary.com, no coupon code is required.
Can the Back-to-School Discount be combined with other discounts?
The Back-to-School Discount cannot be combined with other discounts, coupons or promotions. The only exception is the permanent 5% discount available at Premium level in the GLS VIP Loyalty Programme, which can be used together with the Back-to-School Discount.
Can I use the Back-to-School discount together with a Wheel of Fortune coupon won in the App?
No. Apart from the permanent 5% Premium-level discount, the Back-to-School Discount cannot be used together with any other coupon or discount.
What happens if I do not use the Back-to-School discount during the promotional period?
Once the Back-to-School promotional period ends, the discount can no longer be redeemed.
What is the 10% discount valid for?
The 10% Back-to-School discount applies to the service charge for parcel orders placed through the GLS App and ecsomag.gls-hungary.com during the promotional period.
Can I use the Back-to-School discount multiple times during the promotional period?
Yes. The discount can be used multiple times during the promotional period. In the GLS App, it can be redeemed with each new parcel shipment, while on ecsomag.gls-hungary.com it is applied automatically.
Where can I book a shipment to participate in the promotion?
The discount is available for shipments placed through the GLS App and ecsomag.gls-hungary.com during the promotional period.
Can the Back-to-School Discount be used to purchase a GLS GO subscription on ecsomag.gls-hungary.com?
No. The discount cannot be used for GLS GO subscriptions. One discounted parcel shipment is available per transaction.
I already have a GLS GO package. How can I take advantage of the Back-to-School Discount?
If you already have a purchased GLS GO package, the prepaid GLS GO shipments will automatically be used first on ecsomag.gls-hungary.com. The Back-to-School Discount cannot be applied to these prepaid shipments. Once your prepaid GLS GO credits have been used up, you can use the Back-to-School Discount on eligible shipments until the end of the promotional period. The Back-to-School discount cannot be applied to a GLS GO subscription.
