In your role as Global Strategy Lead you play a key role in the expansion of GLS’ leading position in the industry and our strategic direction. The Global Strategy Lead is leading the growing Strategic Development team.

You will:

  • Develop and define strategic choices, together with the GLS senior management team, to drive the GLS growth ambitions
  • Identify, analyse and evaluate critical business decisions and steer the development and implementation of GLS’ strategic initiatives
  • Be a critical thought partner to the senior management, whilst leading cross-functional strategic international programs, as well as the annual strategic planning process.
  • Partner with other functions across the organization to execute the strategy - and how we bring this to live in our markets
  • Bring outside-in fresh perspectives to continue to define the future of logistics
  • Drive the success of the Strategic Development department and team
  • Lead investor relations activities like full year announcements and investor roadshows

You have:

  • You have an academic degree in business administration or a related field
  • > 9 years of experience in strategy development and program management
  • Leadership and consulting (inhouse or external) experience
  • The ability to process large amounts of complex information quickly, precisely and to a high standard and identify important key messages efficiently and present them “Board ready”[MR1]
  • A proactive hands-on mentality and networking skills
  • Fluency in English

(Senior) Project Manager Green Transportation

GLS is one of the major players in the global parcel delivery market. Due to the e-commerce revolution, this market is growing and innovating rapidly.

The Corporate Environment & Climate Strategy department is the key contact for the environmental and climate strategy of the GLS Group (Europe, USA and Canada). Our task is to reduce emissions GLS-wide and to pave the way towards "zero emissions". We create transparency by calculating our Eco Footprint, coordinate Group-wide topics such as electromobility, charging infrastructure and renewable energies and are in close contact with the the local GLS entities.

In your role as (Senior) Project Manager Green Transportation you will push the global initiatives for our transition towards a zero-emission transportation fleet and work closely with GLS countries on national implementations.

You will:

  • Test & Validate: Develop concepts and pilots for electric and hydrogen mobility solutions in our last mile and linehaul operation
  • Connect: Build strategic partnerships with suppliers and providers of alternative transportation technology
  • Scale: Help the GLS countries to manage the transition to a zero-emission company - identifying local requirements, defining blueprints and guidelines
  • Manage: Lead projects from A to Z including piloting, testing and taking care for internal and external stakeholder management
  • Team up: Work within our corporate team, as well as cross-functionally with the GLS countries to support with training, best practices, and process implementation.

You have:

  • A university degree in engineering or other relevant technical field
  • 3-5 years project management experience ideally in a technical environment
  • Profound knowledge of sustainable transport solutions (Electric and Hydrogen) through study and practical experience
  • Excellent written and spoken English and German skills
  • Experience working with teams across geographies and business units
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills in an intercultural environment
  • A high degree of initiative and fun taking on responsibility
  • Excellent MS Office skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel
